The Inner Child

The Inner Child (Unfinished) 60″ x 36″ Oil on Linen – One of my paintings

My Inner Child –

The painting is an outline of myself (crisp realism) holding hands with my imaginary inner child (loosely defined), who has a balloon. We are on a journey/or entering a portal to an arrid desert like landscape with clouds, the journey into the afterlife/suicide.  And even though this is a scary journey, I am taking care of my inner child by caring for him with a balloon.  Meanwhile the outside of the painting consists of splatters of paint of many different colors signifying all the emotions and terrible challenges that are thrown at me everyday life.

This image was inspired by concatenation of the Modernest Jackson Pollock and the Surrealist Magritte.

Dear God – help me to get better.
